Ruth is a passionate creative from Nairobi, Kenya currently residing in Birmingham, Alabama. Her journey as an artist began at the age of 15 when she found solace in art, a perfect escape from boredom.
Self-taught and investing the time to learn the art of business, she honed her skills and started Ruth Oneya Illustrations while in college in 2016. Since then she has been focusing on creating beautiful commission-based art pieces at her home studio and capturing memorable moments live at weddings. She is also a well established graphic designer which allows her to create wedding invitations and much more.
Aside from art, Ruth enjoys all kinds of foods, photography, traveling, and being a self-proclaimed plant lady.

To start the booking process, just fill out the inquiry form. Once I receive it, I’ll send over a brochure with all the details and options. After you’ve made your selection, you can secure your date with a 1/4 non-refundable deposit. From there, we’re all set to start chatting and planning for your big day!

I complete as much of the painting as possible on-site. Then, I take it to my studio to refine the details, adjust colors, and make sure the faces are as accurate as possible before I send it your way.
Yes, I absolutely do! If your wedding has passed, I can still create a live-style painting from your favorite photos. Feel free to contact me if you’re interested in this option!
I recommend booking as early as possible, especially since many couples reserve up to a year in advance. That said, I do accept last-minute bookings if my schedule allows, so feel free to reach out no matter your timeline. If I'm available, I’d be thrilled to be part of your day!
